(Hagatna, Guam) – (December 8, 2015) – The SKIP Entertainment Company will be hosting their Annual Christmas Concert “Christmas in Hollywood” on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Father Duenas Memorial School, Phoenix Center. The concert will feature over 100 dancers ranging between the ages of 3 through 20 performing Jazz and Hip Hop dance styles to pop and familiar Christmas songs from some of our favorite Christmas movies. This concert is produced by Teri Knapp and directed by SKIP’s choreographer and former company dancer, Brian Esperon.

Concert tickets are $15 for Adults, $10 for Students, $40 for VIP tickets for the 2:30pm and 6:30pm show times. Funds from this concert will be used to contribute to a local charity as well as raise funds for their competitions this upcoming summer.

In an effort to give back to the local community, members of the SKIP Touring Group have been teaching dance classes at various schools on-island and have performed for community events such as the Red Ball to help contribute to the American Red Cross. This opportunity has allowed the SKIP members to share their knowledge and love of dance with others.

The SKIP Entertainment Dance Company (SKIP) is a Guam Success Story. SKIP originally started in 1982 as a project of Children's Productions, Incorporated in 1982, known as the Sunshine Kids In Production (SKIP). Prior to the birth of SKIP, Children's Productions first staged a number of children’s musicals including "Swinging on a Star, "Candy Man," and "High Hopes." Soon the focus turned to dance, giving thousands of Guam's youth an opportunity to excel. Instructors and choreographers continue to come to Guam from Los Angeles and New York City to work with the group.

This past summer, the touring company competed in Barcelona, Spain and shared 1st Place with Singapore in the Dance World Cup. Also, Senior members of the company represented Guam/USA in Brisbane, Australia to compete in World Supremacy Battlegrounds and took 1st Place in the Young Guns Division. Thirty members of the SKIP Touring Company will represent Guam and compete on the mainland this summer.
