WHITE OAK DANCE PROJECT

The WHITE OAK DANCE PROJECT embodies the adventurousness and commitment to excellence of its creators Mark Morris and Mikhail Baryshnikov. Baryshnikov has explored the deepest, most daring frontiers of art with this dynamic and provocative ensemble, collaborating with the finest contemporary performers and choreographers to realize a vision shaped by diversity, possiblility, and curiosity. A continually evolving troupe of hand-picked performers, WHITE OAK embraces an eclectic array of dance works-expanding notions of style and technique and exposing the many facets of modern dance vocabulary.
Former SKIP Entertainment Company Dancer, Michael Lomeka nutured his love for dance while training and performing with the SKIP Entertainment Company in preparation for his audition with the Juilliard School of Dance. He was selected as one of 24 dancers from around the world to enter Juilliard in 1993. Following graduation from Juilliard, Michael joined the Broadway company of The King and I before being selected for the prestigious WHITE OAK DANCE PROJECT in 1998.
Performances by the WHITE OAK DANCE COMPANY will be staged at the Southern High Fine Arts Auditorium on Thursday, March 1 and Friday, March 2 at 7:00pm.
